Review of "Heidi" by Mephisto - Everything about this shoe is PERFECT!! It fits true to size, has arch support in the right place, is comfortable and as a result I don't suffer from plantar faciitis and arthritis pains. I wore this shoe only when I toured Ireland and England for 11 days, walking everywhere on gray rocks!

Mephisto - Heidi - I have owned this shoe for more than 18-years. It fits wonderful and lasts a very long time; therefor on my 3rd pair. I wear a wide shoe and this fits perfectly. Prior to foot surgery, my doctor said this would be the perfect shoe to wear afterwards. Goodby Birkenstocks!

Almost, but not quite... Because the shoe seems a bit long, the arch support is not quite in the right place for my feet. I also like better a 3 strap style I owned earlier; it feels more secure on my feet. The sole is somewhat less flexible that I would prefer. Overall the shoe still beats any Birkenstock I ever tried on.

Heidi Review - I bought these sandals, because of wonderful reviews from previous buyers...They are not attractive shoes, I knew this, however comfort and durability is what I was looking for...After several weeks wearing, they are now becoming very comfortable.....Excellent customer service...

Mephisto Heidi - I have a high arch, wide toe box, and suffer with plantar fasciitis. Wear an 8.5, purchased the 38 and it is a perfect fit, arch is in the right place. This is currently the only shoe I can actually walk in. I wasn't sure if this sandal was going to help, but each week my right foot has been getting better. I am on week 4 and no longer have to ice or tape my foot. Still wear an arch sleeve and stretch, but I know I have turned the corner and my foot is continuing to heal. I hope this same footbed is in the Mephisto athletic sandals, but haven't tried them yet. Also tried the Hannel, but the Heidi had more arch support for me.

Ugly but mostly comfortable - The sandal's buckles seem very big and rub sometimes, especially the one at the toe strap. Also my heels slip around in the heelcup and they make rough spots. But they really support my high arches.

Other sandals recommended by reviewer: Clarks make some very comfy sandals, and some are more stlyish

Hi Heidi - Looks like a real workhorse of a sandal and divinely comfortable...I just didn't like the distressed leather and the frumpy look.

MEPHISTOS ROCK!! OWN 7 PAIRS OF MEPHISTO! Bought my 1st Mephistos in France. Changed my life! Are more comfortable than all the athletic sandals I'd ever owned. Told Mephisto only uses real rubber on the sole. I have owned two Heidi's...one nubuck and one leather. Like the leather better because it keeps it shape, doesn't look dirty. I can have a shoemaker put holes in these straps to fit my foot exactly which works for wide or narrow feet. My foot is medium to narrow with no arch & the support in the arch is wonderful on these sandals and most Mephistos! I have the heel problem (plantar fasciitis) so the lift in the heel keeps that from being a problem. Mephisto Rush is a wonderful pair where one can insert orthodics. I always where a 9 1/2 shoe but I always wear a 10 in Mephistos (40 EU). My foot is most of the time too narrow for 10's in other sandals. These sandals can be worn everywhere without pain and if you have pain put these sandals on and the pain will go away!

Heidi is for narrow feet - The quality of Mephistos is unsurpassed, but the women's shoe is definitely not for women with wide or possibly even average feet. I ended up giving the sandals to my daughter who has very narrow feet and they fit her perfectly. I will be ordering another pair in a men's size for myself, hoping they'll be wider. They're wonderful shoes and the old pair I've been wearing for years are wonderful and still in good shape.

Recent purchase - The Mephestos are excellent as always, but the best part was the outstanding service from Zappos. I accidently ordered the wrong US size and needed the correct size in 5 days for a trip. I called and explained my situation. Zappos had a replacement pair to me in 3 days, and I didn't have to pay for the return or new delivery. WOW. What a company. I've never experienced one like it. I have found my online shoe store. Thank you.

Heavenly Heidi's - I LOVE mephisto's...especially the Heidi, as you can adjust the straps to be a PERFECT fit for you. I have a narrow foot and cannot wear Birkies but the Mephisto's fit like a GLOVE. They are expensive but worth every penny !!! Also, as a side note. Zappo's is GREAT. FASTEST service and WONDERFUL communications !!! Will definitly use for ALL my future purchases !!!!

Even better than slippers! I love these sandals and I want them in at least eight different colors! I find myself putting these on at night instead of my slippers because they are even more comfortable. I have a tumor in one foot and arthritus in both feet and these are the only shoe that I can wear. They are wonderful.

After buying these sandals I am convinced I no longer want to wear any other brand to kick around in. I tried the birks, and a couple other types that claim to be comfortable but to me were not, and they were so wonderful about taking them back. I bought these and a couple other pair of mephisto shoes and I highly recommend them if you want a truly comfortable shoe. They are like heaven. They seem just a little bit narrow at first, but they break in easily and quickly with no pain! I don't know why everyone raves about birkenstocks when this is the true comfort shoe.

Love this sandal - I own this sandal in blue and an orangy red. I'm looking for more of these colors. It's a shame this site only has it in brown. I spent my vacation in nothing but these shoes. Comfortable from beginning of there life until the end.

Mephisto Heidi - I had such high expectations when I ordered this sandal. In the photo, it appears so very stylish and comfortable. However, when I received them and tried them on, I was so disappointed. They immediately felt odd on my feet. The footbed is much harder than I had anticipated, and the very high arch pushed my foot off to the side. They also didn't look very nice on my feet. They show way too much toe -looks geeky. The Birkenstock Arizona Soft Footbed sandal is much more comfortable and attractive.

Favorite sandals ever - I've had my sandals for over 10 years and have worn them summer and winter, with and without socks. They're the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned. The leather still looks good, but I've had them wet too many times, so it's time to get a new pair.

Had 'em 12 years and still comfortable, but near retirement - I've had a similarly styled pair of Mephisto shoes for 12 years; they're no longer offered and I'm looking to replace them with the Heidi. My feet are always happy in these shoes. After 12 years, they look like hell, but the leather's still in A-1 condition. Had them resoled once and they need it again. I have a high arch and instep, which isn't a problem in these shoes, though they're just a bit narrow for me, with my little toe wondering what it's doing sort of veering off the edge. But the adjustable straps support without pinching.

Comfort, Comfort, Comfort with a High Arch Support. I love this sandal. It fits better than any shoe I've ever owned. I wear them every day. I've had them two years and they still look good. I don't know, and can't see, the size mark on them. I have a high arch and they provide a cradle of support. I like the adjustable straps; I can wear them with or without socks. I recommend them 100%+.
