I've never had an uncomfortable or bad-fitting Mephisto shoe. They make sandals for people with unhappy feet. I just wish their shoes were made in half-sizes like their walking sandals.

Comfortable and versatile - I have a herniated disc in my lower back that flares periodically. These shoes give wonderful arch support and are fashionable to wear with a casual skirt or pants. I have tried many different styles and the Mephisto Afida gets my vote!

Cute, comfortable, but thin sole - This is a cute sandal especially for an orthopedically correct one. It has an easy style about it. The buckle rubbed for the first couple of wearings around the house but that is now a non issue. I kept this sandal because the suede is so soft and smooth. However, for an ortho shoe it does not offer the support of other Birks or other Mephisto's. The straps seem like they will stretch out very soon and the sole is too thin. I would wear it on a light shopping trip but not on a real walk. I have sporadic foot, knee and back issues but if you have none of those issues you'll probably love this sandal. Oh, it is flattering to the foot, and the style is versatile also as is the Stone color.

Comfort in an attractive sandal - This Mephisto sandal has excellent comfort and is attractive too. This is a wonderful choice for someone who has relatively narrow feet (but buys M sandals); I could leave the buckle in the middle position. The leather is soft and the sandals have a very soft padded insole. These look dressier than Birkenstocks so they will go nicely with a casual skirt; the buckle is not bulky. I wear a true size 9 (rarely a 9-1/2 and always EU 40) so I was conflicted on the size to order as 39=9 is indicated. I found the 39 too short and had to order the 40. I hope this helps with your sizing.

Returning this shoe - I love the look of this shoe on my foot BUT it does not stay tight on my foot- the other day I fell down as I took a step up a curb because it dangled from my heel and caught the edge of the cement - at 60 years old I don't like skinned knees! I've tried different buckle settings but it doesn't help- the foot bed is not all that comfortable for a shoe this expensive!

Returning this shoe - I love the look of this shoe on my foot BUT it does not stay tight on my foot- the other day I fell down as I took a step up a curb because it dangled from my heel and caught the edge of the cement - at 60 years old I don't like skinned knees! I've tried different buckle settings but it doesn't help- the foot bed is not all that comfortable for a shoe this expensive!

Cute, comfortable, but thin sole - This is a cute sandal especially for an orthopedically correct one. It has an easy style about it. The buckle rubbed for the first couple of wearings around the house but that is now a non issue. I kept this sandal because the suede is so soft and smooth. However, for an ortho shoe it does not offer the support of other Birks or other Mephisto's. The straps seem like they will stretch out very soon and the sole is too thin. I would wear it on a light shopping trip but not on a real walk. I have sporadic foot, knee and back issues but if you have none of those issues you'll probably love this sandal. Oh, it is flattering to the foot, and the style is versatile also as is the Stone color.

This is a wonderful choice for someone who has relatively narrow feet (but buys M sandals); I could leave the buckle in the middle position. The leather is soft and the sandals have a very soft padded insole. These look dressier than Birkenstocks so they will go nicely with a casual skirt; the buckle is not bulky. I wear a true size 9 (rarely a 9-1/2 and always EU 40) so I was conflicted on the size to order as 39=9 is indicated. I found the 39 too short and had to order the 40. I hope this helps with your sizing.

Returning this shoe - I love the look of this shoe on my foot BUT it does not stay tight on my foot- the other day I fell down as I took a step up a curb because it dangled from my heel and caught the edge of the cement - at 60 years old I don't like skinned knees! I've tried different buckle settings but it doesn't help- the foot bed is not all that comfortable for a shoe this expensive!

Comfy sandals - These sandals are wonderful. Your feet feel like they're naked. I most of the time wear a size 8 1/2 shoe and found that the 38 fit much better than the 39. The 39 was too wide.

I've never had an uncomfortable or bad-fitting Mephisto shoe. They make sandals for people with unhappy feet. I just wish their shoes were made in half-sizes like their walking sandals.

Mephisto Afida - Excellent comfort and support! They feel like slippers and you don't need to break them in. The first time I wore them I walked for hours in Manhattan and had no complaints. Great colors to choose from...I bought them in black and brown.

Comfortable and versatile - I have a herniated disc in my lower back that flares periodically. These shoes give wonderful arch support and are fashionable to wear with a casual skirt or pants. I have tried many different styles and the Mephisto Afida gets my vote!

Cute, comfortable, but thin sole - This is a cute sandal especially for an orthopedically correct one. It has an easy style about it. The buckle rubbed for the first couple of wearings around the house but that is now a non issue. I kept this sandal because the suede is so soft and smooth. However, for an ortho shoe it does not offer the support of other Birks or other Mephisto's. The straps seem like they will stretch out very soon and the sole is too thin. I would wear it on a light shopping trip but not on a real walk. I have sporadic foot, knee and back issues but if you have none of those issues you'll probably love this sandal. Oh, it is flattering to the foot, and the style is versatile also as is the Stone color.

Very pretty shoe, but runs small - I ordered this shoe in a 37 which is supposed to be a size 7. This shoe runs small! I ordered it in pink and it is gorgeous. I really wanted it, so I am disappointed in the size and that I have to take the time to send it back.

Comfort in an attractive sandal - This Mephisto sandal has excellent comfort and is attractive too. This is a wonderful choice for someone who has relatively narrow feet (but buys M sandals); I could leave the buckle in the middle position. The leather is soft and the sandals have a very soft padded insole. These look dressier than Birkenstocks so they will go nicely with a casual skirt; the buckle is not bulky. I wear a true size 9 (rarely a 9-1/2 and always EU 40) so I was conflicted on the size to order as 39=9 is indicated. I found the 39 too short and had to order the 40. I hope this helps with your sizing.

My all time favorite brand - This is my 9th Mephisto sandal! Can you tell how much I love this brand? This particular sandal I bought in Rose Nubuck and it is not only very soft and comfy; it is also so pretty on the feet! I highly recommend it!

Love the Color! I've lost track of the number of Mephistos I own. They were the only sandal I could wear all day long. This is my first Afida and I love the color. They are not as rigid as the Heidi or Helen but they still provided support the one day that I have worn them. My only concern is that my little toe may be trying to sneak out on the right foot, other than that I really love them.

Great Comfort! These sandals are wonderful! I have a herniated disc in my back. These are the only sandals I can wear that don't seem to make the pressure worse in my back. They make me almost feel like I am walking on air.

Mephistos are GREAT! I have 4 pair of Mephisto shoes and love them. The last pair isn't as soft as the first 3 pairs, due to the composition of the cork in the sole, making them higher. I find the size is accurate. Wish Mephisto would make another pair in camel color.

Careful! The jury is out on these shoes. I found they ran a size small, but once I got the right size, they seemed very comfortable. No break in time needed. Strangely enough, for some reason when walking up stairs they don't stay on your feet and the toe hits the edge of the step. I read about this same problem in another review and now I know exactly what they meant, could be dangerous.

Beautiful shoe - I have one wide foot and one not-so-wide foot, and this blissfully comfortable shoe easily adjusted across the instep to fit both. I'm a 7.5-8 and ordered a 38, despite the warnings about the shoe running small. They're perfect. The design of the shoe is incredibly flattering to the foot and to the leg, even though they're flats. And I love the Apple Green nubuck! I ordered these sandals on Saturday night and received them Monday morning. You guys work too hard! But I'm not going to complain. I've never had anything but the best service from your company.

NYC walker - These are so comfortable like slippers, very soft leather. True to size and full for m-w. Nice looking for casual dress with white side walls. Wish they came in pale pink, too.
