The shoe felt extremely comfortable immediately, although it did take some time to get fully comfortable with walking in them (try them inside first to get the hang of it). Not only did my ankle improve, but these shoes activated leg and back muscles that I didn't know I had! Now I'm saving for a third pair, so beware - MBTs can be addictive, and I'm ruined for any other shoe, however fashionable they might be. I have black and brown in size 11.5 (43) and a white in the women’s 11 (42) which is the largest in women’s. The white fits ok but not as long as the 43. I decided to try this blue one but I had to send it back as it ran smaller than the white one in the same size (42). My toe was right at the end. It is the same style as the brown one (without toe insert) and maybe that is why but if you measure over an 11 this shoe will not work. You have to stick with the men's sizes. Meanwhile MBT has saved my walking life! They are worth every penny! Usually I have to get wide sandals so I avoid brands which only come in medium width, but these are comfortable for me. They do give more activity up the whole leg as you walk. These are comfortable to me esp. when I need a different type of support when my feet are tired. They're pleasant to wear on a brisk walk, but I got bad blisters and have to wear moleskin with them. In hot weather, they're enjoyable to wear. I would like them better if they had a bit of arch support. As far as looks, they're kind of funny-looking, but sort of cute. I don't wear much baby blue, so they look odd with my clothes. I'm still glad I bought them though. As to sizing, my MBT Sneakers are 8-1/2. I needed a size 9 in these (my normal size). I had stopped being able to take walks anymore due to hip and knee pain and plantar fasciitis in my left foot. As soon as I put these sandals on I felt pressure lift off my diaphragm so I could breathe more deeply. The pressure is off my painful heel, and after 6 weeks I have no more joint pain whatsoever. My chronic low-grade lower back-pain is gone. I am enjoying walking again. They are cute and they are blue. I had originally gotten the white shoes, but if you have wide feet or large feet, the brown and blue sandal are a better fit. If you order the blue, you should consider ordering one full size bigger instead of just half, as most MBT's run small due to their European design. I love my MBT's and highly recommend them to anyone thinking about purchasing them. The rocking motion proved to be very easy to adjust to. The shoe did exercise some extra muscles in my calves and hips. Sensation in wearing the shoe seems very high energy. The foot bed is absolutely flat but because the shoe is convex from front to back when you walk you feel arch support from the sole of the shoe. I have a pair of MBT sneakers and they are even more comfortable. These sandals are definitely the way to go once you reach an age where you don't care if you look stylish in your new sandals. This is the third pair of Kisumu shoes I have purchased. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn; they feel like I am walking on a mattress. I can walk for hours in them and my feet do not get tired, and after a week or two, the difference in my leg muscles became wonderfully evident. I highly recommend them to anyone who asks! They are the perfect casual summer shoe. The new blue is a nice summery color addition to the brown & black pairs which I already own. I hope they come out with more colors next year! Even my husband thinks it looks cuter than the other MBT's (sport low) that I was wearing 24/7. These are a bit more stylish and cooler for summer months. I work out at least once a day and these sandals have saved my knees! I put them on the minute I'm done working out and my knees instantly stop hurting - it's like magic! They also help to take the pressure off my upper back. I really notice all my work out related aches and pains when I DON'T wear these sandals. A Hollywood celeb said they’re the only shoe she wears and swore by them. Desperate, and with feet pain all the time, and also a FT nurse, I decided to try them. It’s against my principles to pay more than $50 for a shoe, but I had to try these—they are wonderful and it’s just like walking on a rubber ball, you bounce with every step. There are no pressure points affected. The shoe feels absolutely wonderful and I will buy another pair. Not happy with the price and feel it is very overpriced and could be sold for much less, which it probably will be once the novelty goes away. When colder weather came, I adjusted the straps to accommodate nifty socks and kept right on going. Adding the socks allowed me to avoid buying the closed in MBT sneaker. Before, I walked with a painful limp, and every step was miserable (arthritis and torn tendons). My quality of life was NOT good. Then I got these sandals, and everything is different. I never had a break-in period. They took away the pain immediately, and as long as I wear them, I am pain free. If I don't, the pain comes back in maybe half a day. The doctors tell me my foot can never be fixed, but at least I have a more normal life now. I tried 3 different sets of custom orthotics (some more expensive than these sandals) and got minimal pain relief. These are the closest thing to magic I can imagine. Recently, I was vacationing in Washington, DC and walked all day. I had purchased expensive sandals on a friend's recommendation to wear. Well, my feet killed me! I happened to see a store that had MBTs and since I had heard of them, decided to try. Well, I bought these shoes and came back for the tennis sandals. I have mostly worn the shoes. Take advice: Gradually get used to these sandals (they advise that). I didn't have that luxury because I was walking everyday, but these are the best thing I've ever found. Also, adjust heel strap first, then toe and strap closure. I also found to leave toe and strap on the loose side. These sure put a spring in your step. Also, if you ever wear out the sole, you can send them back for "resoling" for a reasonable price. I LOVE them. I do know that this sandal is lots of fun to take a walk in. It is different, almost like a woman's platform sandals (1 and 1/2 inches high). When standing still you can rock back and forth in them because the sole arches up in the front and back. One has to learn to walk in them. I have severe osteoarthritis in one knee. Both are outstanding products, however, the sandal seems to be more practical for everyday activities while the heavy Low Sport shoe is best suited for extended fitness walks. Even though very well constructed and padded, the sandal is lighter and its sole does not seem to be as deep or rounded as that of the shoe. This sandal fits wonderful and provides excellent support, especially with the new model's adjustable back strap. While not bad looking, this sandal probably will not win any fashion awards but people should be buying this product for comfort, quality, and the joint pain relief it provides. Also, adjust heel strap first, then toe and strap closure. I also found to leave toe and strap on the loose side. These sure put a spring in your step. Also, if you ever wear out the sole, you can send them back for "resoling" for a reasonable price. I LOVE them. I have severe osteoarthritis in one knee. I also take a slightly wider shoe size. I took a chance anyway and they fit perfectly. I'm totally convinced. OK, I had to learn to balance myself properly on these, but it was worth it. Wearing regular sandals (for work) is a letdown. Fortunately I can wear sneakers to work, I'm getting those next. However I did notice there is no arch support and with plantar fasciitis this can worsen the condition, especially if you are not walking and paying attention at the same time. Overall, compared to the sneaker, it is definitely, not as comfortable or supportive. To be honest, I was disappointed. I have had plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis and extremely sore hamstrings, MBT sandals, these sandals, helped me walk actually [without pain] again. They are absolutely worth what you spend for them. Sure I wish they didn't cost so much; however, the relief and expense saved from going to doctors offsets their costs.
