I Kid You Not! I am 53, have neuropathy in my feet, and a knee replacement in my future. I know I'm an insane mess. The docs gave me a couple of surgeries to try and alleviate the pain. No good. I have a hard time walking around a store without sitting down. Four days ago, I purchased my first pair of MBTs (sport low) in the desperate hope that they might help. They do. I cannot believe it! I'm looking at about a 30 percent improvement. That’s a miracle. I purchased these Gil Gils after 4 days with my other pair. These will be for around the house. My pains so bad, I cannot go barefoot. They fit wonderful, and they work. They are pricey, but I must buy 3 pairs or so a year of the expensive regular sandals in an attempt to solve my problem. Regular sandals are useless.

I love my MBT sandals. This is my second pair of MBT sandals. I found this pair a bit larger and wider than the sneaker and I had to add an additional pad under the insole to have them fit properly. I most of the time wear orthotics. In spite of the orthotics when I do a lot of walking (I live in NYC) my feet often hurt and ankles swell. With MBT I placed an arch pad into the shoe and I can walk for miles without any pain in my feet and ankles.

The MBT Gil Gil is a wonderful shoe! I read a lot of hype about MBT footwear and so I decided to check them out. I'm very particular about sandals that I wear due to the fact that I have flat feet and am unable to tolerate more than a hint of arch support. I once wore Birkenstock shoes when at Disney World. I did a lot of standing in lines and the Birks hurt my feet so badly (due to the rigid arch support) that I nearly left early. I vowed to never wear footwear that hurt my feet again. I tried Mephistos and found a shoe that didn't hurt my feet, but I couldn't tolerate the arch support in their shoes. For tennis, I use the Prince NFS (natural foot shape sandals). Anyway, you get the picture. I tried three different styles of MBTs including the Gil Gil. Each was comfortable and would have worked for me, but the Gil Gil fit my needs the best. They breathe well, are very comfortable, has minimal arch support, and I like the way they looks. They help me improve my posture and give me a good workout. I've worn them while doing a three mile power walk with several substantial hills on the route. I actually notice the sandals the most when going downhill. It effectively negates the heel strike force and shin splints are a thing of the past. I also like walking on flat surfaces because when I roll through each step (as the DVD instructed me to do), it feels as if the Gil Gils are spring loaded. It feels as if I am on one of those moving "conveyor belts" that they have at many airports. I seem to be covering more distance and at a faster pace than I previously have done. I think that the Gil Gils are fantastic! MBTs are expensive, but I'm willing to pay more to get what I need. Also, MBTs can all be resoled. They should last a long time. I'll be buying another pair of MBTs for colder weather. They simply are one of, if not the best sandals available at any price.

Stands you up straight for your own good. Conservative rating because I hurt with neuropathy & have rather flat feet with a narrow heel. I've had rocker soles before, but this is the best ever found. Wouldn't you know it, it's expensive, but comfort, quality & sturdiness make it worthy. Exceeds Earth sandals & others with coaxed posture. I have to watch my dollars, but needed these. A bit homely, yes. This is as close to perfection for my comfort I have found. Regard it as an investment. Long lasting.

Great sandals! I have a lot of back and joint stiffness and pain and it's amazing the difference these sandals have made. They've loosened my joints relieving the pain and I am much more sure-footed walking in them than I thought I'd be. I think they're fabulous!

Stylish and Comfortable - I wear these mostly around the house and outside with no socks. Do on occasion put on some socks and wear them with chinos into town. Hate to take them off, they're so comfortable.
