I love these Donald Pliner dress shoes! I plan to wear these to a black tie wedding and even though the heel is black wood, the rest of the shoe is stylish enough to wear with a long gown or jeans. They are much more stunning in person than the picture shows online. The most important thing for me is comfort. I haven't worn these out of the house yet, but so far they seem to be very comfortable. I bought these in an 8 narrow and the toe piece makes them fit like a dream. In the past I have bought Stuart Weitzman shoes, but have found them to be extremely painful after an hour of wearing. I have always found Donald Pliner shoes to be comfortable and beautifully constructed. I bought these in black. I thought it was a bit much to pay for sandals but they've been worth every penny. They're comfortable and look great on. I get a lot of compliments every time I wear them. If I get another pair in another color, I'll probably order a 1/2 size smaller. Not as good of arch support as other Donald Pliners but not bad. The first day I wore them I did a lot of walking and my feet felt great. I love these shoes and I know I will wear them for years. I've worn Pliner for years. These are stable, the right height. The suede pretty much guarantees that they won't make blisters. I tried them on and didn't want to take them off. Nice and cushy. It's still winter where I live so I can't speak to wearing them all day, or wearing them at all yet! But with my other experience with Pliner and this sort of style, I'm sure they'll be great. The mules work much better when the top of the shoe comes up higher, which keeps it on the foot better. They'll be great in spring and summer with jeans or anything else. The suede makes them a little softer looking for summer even though they're black. The toe ring is much more comfortable for me than a plain thong style. However, this one is just not tops when it comes to comfort. I wore them once out of desperation and I am sorry for that. Should have returned them. Wore them all day the first time. the only issue I had was that I needed an additional hole added to the strap (which cost me 50 cents. The strap was way too tight. The cushioning under the ball of the foot is wonderful, and in the nappa, the toe ring doesn't bother at all. (I bought a similar shoe with the cobra-textured leather, and it irritated me.) I do think that Pliners, in general run a bit narrow, which I greatly appreciate for my particular foot. Zappos speed of delivery once again took me by surprise. The section for my big toe is a little tight and the ankle strap hits my foot in an uncomfortable way as well.
