Extremely comfortable - This is my first pair of Birkenstock's and I am so happy with them. I happen to be 7 months pregnant and the bottoms of my feet constantly hurt. I needed something comfortable for the summer and am very pleased with this purchase. They were comfortable from the start and don't need breaking in. I actually wear a 6. Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding - I have bragged to everyone at work and friends on how quick I received these sandals. I ordered around 8:00 p.m. one evening and they were on my front porch when I came home for lunch the very next day!! I was amazed and satisfied that I received them so fast. So comfortable! It took about a week or so to break these in, but now they are perfect. My knees hurt a lot less now that I wear these as my "default shoe." I think it is because of the arch support. Regular width definitely requires narrow width in Birks. What a relief to find these!

Worth the wait - My husband desperately needed to replace his Birkenstocks. Because he needed a narrow width, and also wanted smooth leather, there was a bit of a wait until the right size/width/leather/color was available from Zappos. But when the Birks were finally available, they were worth the wait for the narrow width -- happy husband = happy household!

My legs don't hurt anymore - I absolutely love these sandals...They hurt a little and had some small blisters till I broke them in. I have wide feet and these sandals cup around your feet, so that's the reason for the blisters...My legs don't hurt anymore since I have been wearing these sandals. Styles could be better and the shoe could become a little cheaper. The suede sandals are bigger because the straps are looser...I needed to put new holes in them. I have 10 prs...I really like them...

Try them on first - Great sandals (I'm on my second pair), but the sizing is a bit tough. They don't come in American half sizes and the sizing itself is often a bit inaccurate. For example I actually wear an American 8 or 8.5. My pair of Birkenstocks is a European 38 and they're still a bit too big. More than other sandals the sizing is important since to wear comfortably your heel needs to sit at the back of the heel cup with the toe bar under the joint of your toes. I strongly suggest trying them on in a store first or ordering three or four sizes and returning the ones that don't fit perfectly. Properly resoled these will last you a very long time.

It helps me walk without limping. I have no cartilage in my knee and continually walk in pain--unless I'm wearing my Arizona's. They put my foot in a position that doesn't irritate my already inflamed knee. I plan to get another pair when I have the money.

Flower children - My very first pair of Birkenstock shoes was purchased at a heath food store on a corner in Berkeley California in the mid-1970s.
